Frequently Asked Questions for Parents

The Dear Doodles Kind Kid crew is ready to do virtual playdates with your children! Virtual, short-term playdates for kids aged 4+, with a focus on enriching and enjoyable activities. Our team (called Kind Kids) will videoconference into your house and spend 30 minutes to an hour with your child. They will chat, play charades, do crafts, play music, exercise, or any number of enriching activities!

Just head to our website! Click on the Book Now button, and it will take you to an enrollment form. Please fill out the form, and click submit!

We will receive an email with your information, and we will match you with a member of our Kind Kid Crew and set you up with your virtual playdate. We will introduce you to each other, and you two will settle on a time/date. Then, the Kind Kid will send you a link to a Zoom meeting, and be on at that time. (You may also, through mutual agreement, decide to have a session via Facetime, hangouts, or another video conferencing software.)

After your first session, we will ask you how it went and give you the opportunity to rate/review us and your Kind Kid. If you are satisfied with the service, we will send you an invoice and payment link. For future sessions, you can either request that same Kind Kid, or we can match you with someone else.

We recruit Kind Kids from childcare-focused groups on Stanford campus. These groups include Flying Treehouse (a theater group that produces plays with and for children), Camp Kesem (a student-run summer camp for children whose parents have cancer), and Stanford Sierra camp (a family camp that includes extensive children’s programming). They all have extensive experience in creating enriching programming for children, and are passionate about working with kids!

Yes! Additionally, we will live-stream a couple of weekly videos from Doodles herself. We will have read-alongs, sing-a-alongs, paint-a-longs, and so on! One of these will be posted for free on our website/facebook page weekly, and the other ones will be available for a small subscription fee.

Access to Doodle’s live-streamed activities will cost $10 a week, and includes three weekly broadcast sessions. We will email you links to the livestreams the week before they broadcast.
